Your application is yours
- Use the coach to find stories worth telling, plan your answers and check your own drafts. The final answers are yours to write.
- The coach’s plan points are for planning only. Don’t paste them into any application.
- Follow each school’s rules. Waterloo, for example, says you have to complete the AIF on your own, and that AI answers that are untrue, incorrect or plagiarized can cost you your offer.
- Some programs, like McMaster’s supplementary applications, ban AI help completely. Don’t use the coach for those.
- Our AI provider’s usage policy also applies to you here, and it bans using AI to plagiarize or to hand in AI-assisted work without permission.
No guarantees
- The coach is an AI and it can be wrong, so check every fact.
- It can’t predict admission, and using it won’t make an offer more likely.
- ApplyWell has no connection to the University of Waterloo or any other school.

Fair use
- The coach is for people 14 or older, and you sign in with Google to use it. Free coaching has a daily limit per account and per internet connection. It may pause now and then, and we may switch it off at any time, for example to fix a problem. The free tools keep working either way.
- Don’t try to get around the limits (with several accounts, say), overload the site, or use the coach for anything other than applications.
- Only use the coach from a country or region our AI provider supports. Canada is one of them.
- Don’t put other people’s private details into the coach, and don’t use it to copy or hand in writing that isn’t yours.
The 30-day pass
- A pass is a one-time payment that gives you the coach for 30 days from when you buy it. It doesn’t renew.
- The fair-use rules still apply, including a daily limit.
- If you’re under 18, ask a parent before you buy one.
- If the pass doesn’t work out for you, contact privacy@applywell.study within 7 days of buying it and we’ll give you a full refund.
- If we shut the coach down for good while your pass still has days left, we’ll refund it.
